In the first year of offering Pre-AP, at least one leader from each site (as well as all new Pre-AP teachers) must complete a professional learning requirement. This Pre-AP Leader role may be filled by anyone supporting Pre-AP implementation at the school or district and can include a Pre-AP coordinator, Pre-AP administrator, instructional coach, or any non-teaching instructional support role.
New Pre-AP leaders are required to complete the Online Foundational Leadership Workshop or attend the in-person Pre-AP Summer Institute during the summer before starting their school year.
New leaders may also register for the optional New Leader Virtual Cohort to extend their learning from the Online Foundational Leadership Workshop.
Complete the on-demand Online Foundational Leadership Workshop through Pre-AP Classroom. These leadership-specific modules, which can be completed in 4-6 hours, are free and provide CEU credits.
OR attend an in-person Pre-AP Summer Institute. The leadership institute takes place on day 4 of the Summer Institute. Up to 2 leaders per site can attend with no registration fee and attendees earn CEUs.
Optional Additional Training
