Due to covid-19, College Board is not scheduling in-person professional learning at this time. All professional learning for Pre-AP Courses will be virtual in 2021.
The summer before their first year implementing a Pre-AP course, at least one leader from each school site is required to participate in professional learning offered by College Board. There are two options to meet the professional learning requirement: the in-person Pre-AP Summer Institute and the Pre-AP Online Foundational Leadership Workshop. Both options provide continuing education units to leaders who complete the training.
New Pre-AP leaders completing the Online Foundational Leadership Workshop will have the option to join a New Leader Virtual Cohort, which extends learning from the on-demand Online Foundational Leadership Workshop. These live, virtual sessions provide an opportunity for leaders to further understand the instructional design and program requirements of Pre-AP.
Professional Learning Options for New Pre-AP Leaders
The Pre-AP Leadership Workshop is designed to acclimate leaders to the instructional design and program requirements of Pre-AP. At least one leader (administrator or Pre-AP coordinator) from each Pre-AP school must attend this workshop, which is available either in person on Day 4 of the Pre-AP Summer Institutes or online.
