Due to the unique circumstances of being located outside of the 50 U.S. states, the Pre-AP Program will offer digital-only instructional materials to international schools and schools located in U.S. Territories.
The summer before their first year teaching a Pre-AP course, teachers are required to take part in training offered by the College Board. There are two options to meet this requirement: the Pre-AP Summer Institute and the Online Foundational Module Series. To support the professional development requirement, the College Board will offer in-kind registration seats for teachers to a Pre-AP Summer Institute of their choice.* Travel and all related expenses are the responsibility of the school. All summer institutes will be held on the U.S. mainland.
Over the coming years, the Pre-AP Program will develop a more customized international school offering that will address some of the unique needs of schools located outside of the United States.
*Terms and Conditions: One in-kind teacher registration seat for a Pre-AP Summer Institute will be distributed for every 120 students per newly ordered course for the 2020-21 academic year. In-kind seats will only be provided for the 2020-2021 school year. In-kind seats must be used at a Pre-AP Summer Institute in the summer of 2021 and may not be applied to future workshops. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. In-person registration must be completed no later than four weeks before the event start. Fees for late registration, registration cancellation, and no-shows will apply for both in-kind and purchased seats. In-kind and purchased seats include workshop materials that are distributed at the institutes. Travel, lodging, meal expenses, parking, and incidental costs are not included in the registration. The registration fee is subject to change annually.
