What are the benefits of Pre-AP?

  • Listing in College Board’s official Pre-AP Course Ledger: Internationally respected, the official course ledger lets colleges know that your school has fulfilled all the implementation commitments for Pre-AP.
  • Increased success with AP: Pre-AP courses were back-mapped from AP courses so that students could progress to the AP Program with confidence and an increased chance of success. Pre-AP teachers and administrators agree that Pre-AP helps students succeed in future AP courses. See the report.
  • Pre-AP students more likely to achieve the College Readiness Benchmark: For both Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, Pre-AP students were more likely to meet the SAT® Suite of Assessment benchmarks, which indicate whether a student is on track for college and career readiness at each grade level.
