- Connect Pre-AP shared principles and disciplinary areas of focus to instructional resources and classroom instruction.
- Collaborate to design lessons for all students using the Pre-AP Approach to Teaching and Learning.
- Grow your confidence as an experienced Pre-AP teacher and lesson designer.
Audience: Pre-AP course teachers and instructional coaches who have completed Pre-AP foundational professional learning

“Meeting Student Needs: Differentiating Instruction in Pre-AP Math”
Overview:
Pre-AP courses aim to help all students learn, grow, and succeed. This workshop aligns with those goals by revisiting key ideas from foundational Pre-AP professional learning and encouraging participants as they create a Pre-AP course that supports the diverse learning needs of their students. In this workshop, educators explore the principles and impact of differentiated instruction and apply what they learn to make strategic adjustments to the process, content, and product of lessons to better support and extend student learning.
Pre-AP Experienced Teacher Workshop for Pre-AP Biology, Chemistry

Pre-AP Experienced Teacher Workshops for Pre-AP English 1, English 2
Two workshops are available for experienced Pre-AP English teachers. No recommended order.
Option 1: “A New Palette of Possibilities: Experienced Teacher Lesson Development Using AI Tools”
Overview:
This workshop, designed for experienced course teachers, offers advanced course development using AI tools and best practices for lesson planning. Teachers will analyze their current course needs and experiment with AI tools to address them. Additionally, the workshop will introduce a collaborative method to evaluate and revise AI-assisted and other teacher-generated lessons ensuring alignment to the Pre-AP Approach to Teaching and Learning. Participants will leave with several lessons they can use in their Pre-AP courses.
Participants will need to create a trial account with Magic School using a personal email address.
Option 2: “Practice in Perspectives: Experienced Teacher Strategies for Building Synthesis”
Overview:
The Pre-AP English courses introduce students to synthesis—the consideration, explanation, and integration of others’ arguments into one’s own argument. Through a scaffolded approach, students build a foundation for complex thinking and communicating ideas clearly. Students improve their synthesis skills starting with smaller text-based analytical tasks while learning to manage more and more points of view. By first concentrating on strategies like storyboarding and conversation circles, participants in this workshop learn how to help students acquire strong skills they can later use with essays and other types of writing.
Pre-AP Experienced Teacher Workshop for Pre-AP World History and Geography
